Yes, you can use polyurethane as the final finish coat after sanding. If the project is going outdoors we recommend using a high-quality marine grade spar varnish with UV protection or 2-part Urethane like Bristol Finish. Typically 4-6 coats will suffice. Although ArtPro has UV stabilizers, all epoxy resin will degrade in direct continuous exposure to sunlight. The urethanes will add additional protection and prolong the life of your project!

We would recommend using Tabletop Pro which rated at 124F . Art Pro has a Heat Deflection Temperature of 110F which is fine for cold beverages but anything hot could leave an indentation ie. cup ring. If you do get heat indents from warm objects you can use a heat gun to warm the area and smooth out the dent. General rule of thumb with any brand of room temperature epoxy, if it is hot enough to burn you, it can leave and indent on the epoxy!
